About Arena Twitter
Arena Twitter is a microblogging website built entirely on top of Are.na. Your posts, timeline, and data all live on Are.na as channels and blocks.
How it works
When you sign up, two Are.na channels are created for you:
- A posts channel (closed) — this is where your posts live. Anyone with the link can see it.
- A timeline channel (private) — this is your personal feed. Only you can see it.
Posting
When you write a post, it gets added as a text block to your public posts channel on Are.na, and connected to your own timeline so you can see it right away. Posts have a 140 character limit.
Following
You can follow up to 20 people. When you follow someone, you're subscribing to their public posts channel.
Getting posts
Your timeline doesn't update automatically. When you want to see what people have posted, hit the Get Posts button on your timeline. This fetches recent posts from everyone you follow, sorts them by time, and connects them to your timeline channel. Think of it like checking your mail.
Deleting
Deleting a post removes it from the channel it's displayed in. The block may still exist elsewhere on Are.na.
Your data
All post content is stored on Are.na, not on this server. The only things stored here are your follow relationships and channel references. You can visit your channels directly on Are.na at any time — they're yours.
